The director of the Institute for Fiscal Studies has urged whoever is elected next week to look at ‘sensible’ dividend and capital gains tax proposals.
Speaking at The MJ’s Future Forum North event today, Paul Johnson warned implementation of these proposals, which are featured in Labour’s manifesto, would be ‘complex’ but added: ‘As a direction of travel, I’d like to see whoever wins the next election to take that seriously on board.
