We have, in recent years, enjoyed a growing economy. With a major strength in the automotive sector, particularly around electric vehicle development and connected and autonomous vehicles, a nationally significant cluster in the video game sector, a brilliant tourism sector buoyed by the county’s growing reputation as a destination for cycling, and prior to COVID-19 there was every reason to be optimistic.
