Government accused of trying to 'dictate' recycling rules

Local government figures are resisting proposals to standardise recycling across the country.

Among the proposals in the Government’s waste strategy are for a specific materials to be collected by all local authorities, consistent colour coding for bins, weekly food waste and free two-weekly garden waste collections, and binding minimum service standards.
