Hopkins to head new council company

Sunderland City Council has appointed Alex Hopkins as chief executive of a new company being established to steer forward children’s services in the city.

The former Northamptonshire CC director of children’s services will take charge of the new organisation after an Ofsted report last July found children’s social care in the city to be inadequate.
