Auditors have blamed ‘poor budget management’ after the cost of a Herefordshire Council project to provide a joint customer services hub spiralled out of control.
A report found evidence that officers ‘knowingly disregarded council process and procedure,’ leading to a ‘substantive increase’ in the cost of the Blueschool House refurbishment from £950,000 to £1.9m.
