Improvement board formed for troubled council

The Welsh Government has formed an improvement board to oversee changes at Merthyr Tydfil CBC after a review into the troubled council.

Former Swindon Council chief executive John Gilbert’s review called for the creation of the board after concluding the authority needed to detail a clear vision and recognise the need for transformation to close a budget gap of £8.2m next year.
