LGA backs transition grant

The Local Government Association (LGA) has backed calls for an extension of the controversial transition grant, The MJ understands.

Smith Square is believed to have written to communities secretary Sajid Javid and chancellor Philip Hammond, arguing more cash is needed to help councils prepare for uncertain times caused by delays to business rates retention and the fair funding review.
