Labour accused of centralist coalition approach

Senior Lib Dems have accused Labour of centralist diktat in blocking a series of post-election coalition deals between the two parties.

In the wake of council elections last month - when Labour became the biggest party in local government – the party’s National Executive Council (NEC) has been accused of vetoing planned coalitions with Lib Dems in areas of no overall control or with small majorities.
