MPs demand fundamental reform of council funding

The Government has been urged by a cross-party committee of MPs to address the ‘out-of-control financial crisis’ gripping councils.

A report from the Levelling Up, Housing and Communities Committee concluded more must be done to bridge the £4bn funding gap for 2024-25 before a fundamental reform of the sector’s funding.
