Medway’s children’s services commissioner is stood down

Medway Council will continue to run its own children’s services after the independent commissioner is stood down due to good progress on improvement.

The secretary of state for education Gavin Williamson has withdrawn Medway’s independent commissioner for children’s services Eleanor Brazil from the council based on improvements evidenced in a series of progress reports from the commissioner, Ofsted and the chair of the Improvement Board.
