The Liverpool city region combined authority is to levy a council tax precept for the first time.
Mayor Steve Rotheram’s decision comes after the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy concluded that the establishment of a mayoral precept offered the ‘only sustainable solution to resolving the financial requirements of the organisation’.
