Merseyside mayoral elections date revealed

Elections for the first ever mayor of the Liverpool city region will take place on 4 May next year, communities secretary Greg Clark has announced.

Mr Clark has laid an order in Parliament to enable mayoral elections to go ahead, made possible by the Cities and Local Government Devolution Act.
