Met ‘fails to tackle election fraud at Tower Hamlets’

Tower Hamlets commissioners have expressed their disappointment at the Metropolitan Police Service’s (MPS) failure to tackle election fraud in the borough.

In a letter sent to communities secretary Sajid Javid, seen by The MJ, the commissioners said the police had not fully investigated or held to account those involved in the election court hearing that declared void mayor Lutfur Rahman’s 2014 victory at the polls.
