Minister backs council finance review

A full review of council finances will take place in Northern Ireland after minister Conor Murphy endorsed the proposal.

The Northern Ireland Local Government Association, which had pressured ministers for a ‘complete overhaul’ of council finances, described the agreement as a ‘major step forward to ensure the long-term sustainability of our councils’.
