More help for Afghan refugees ‘urgently required’

The Government has asked councils to provide more support for Afghan people fleeing violence at home.

By the weekend offers had been received for 2,000 individuals who have worked alongside British forces and diplomats under the Afghanistan Relocations and Assistance Policy (ARAP) scheme, including more than 300 properties.
