Officers told to be ‘adventurous’ to close budget gap

Dorset Council’s officers have been tasked with finding ‘new ways of operating’ in a bid to close a budget gap.

With the current deficit forecast for the end of 2021-22 standing at £8m, portfolio holder for finance, Cllr Gary Suttle, said this could grow to a ‘shocking’ £36m under a worst-case scenario.
