Organisations push ahead with legal action on remote meetings

Threats to launch a legal bid to allow remote council meetings to continue beyond the spring have materialised.

The Association of Democratic Services Officers (ADSO) and Lawyers in Local Government (LLG), alongside Hertfordshire CC, have pressed ahead with an application for a declaratory judgement from the High Court.

Local government secretary Robert Jenrick was last month served a pre-action letter warning of legal action to allow virtual council meetings to continue.
