PSAA seeks to increase audit fee role

The body responsible for overseeing audit fees has proposed a new approach under which it will play a greater national role.

Public Sector Audit Appointments (PSAA) has proposed that for accounts for 2020/21 onwards it will agree national fee variations to reflect changes that affect the conduct of all or most audits, including amendments to the auditing and accounting codes, and standards and regulatory requirements, ‘where a standard cost can be reasonably estimated’.
