The chairman of the Local Government Association, Lord Porter, has warned the sector to 'stop fighting and play nicely' or Whitehall will impose reorganisation.
Speaking at the District Councils' Network's (DCN) national conference today, Lord Porter ditched his pre-prepared speech to warn that Conservative ministers could warm to reorganisation if two-tier rows continued.
