Pressure mounts on 1% pay cap

Local government employers are contemplating a two-year pay offer as they battle to keep rises affordable, The MJ understands.

Amid growing public anger over the Government’s continuing 1% public sector pay cap, a number of councils are believed to have planned for a bigger rise in their financial strategies.
