Report calls for outsourcing reform - but warns against ban

Government needs private firms and charities to deliver public services but should improve the rules for outsourcing, a think tank has said.

A new report by the think tank Reform calls for a review of the regulations that govern outsourcing, but opposes the idea of banning private and third sector involvement, as called for by some trade unions in the wake of the Carillion collapse and Interserve’s difficulties.
