NAO study on financial sustainability warns of fresh cash crisis for local authorities

A report into the financial sustainability of England’s local authorities, published by the National Audit Office (NAO), revealed that around 30 county and unitary authorities are now facing such severe financial pressures that they will have no reserves left by 2022 at current spending rates.
