Scottish councils face ‘most difficult budget’ for years

Councils in Scotland face the 'most difficult budget setting context seen for many years,’ a finance watchdog has said.

A report by the Accounts Commission said after the scale of savings made last year and expected in 2022-23 ‘increasingly difficult choices about spending priorities will need to be made’.
