'Significant weaknesses’ in two-thirds of SEND services

‘Significant weaknesses’ were found in more than two-thirds of services for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) inspected last year.

According to the latest figures, 23 or 68% of area SEND inspections by Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission in 2021-22 resulted in the requirement to produce a written statement of action, meaning ‘significant weaknesses’ were found.
