Social housing Bill 'imminent'

Housing minister Eddie Hughes this week insisted the Government would bring forward a social housing Bill ‘as quickly as possible’ as he apologised for delays.

Speaking to the House of Commons’ Levelling Up, Housing and Communities Committee yesterday, Mr Hughes pointed out ‘good legislation takes time’ but added the long-awaited Bill - designed to improve social housing regulation in the post-Grenfell Tower era - would be published ‘imminently’.
