Solace Summit: Roney says 'nothing sexy' about housing companies

Manchester City Council’s chief executive has revealed she remains unconvinced by the need for housing companies to drive up delivery.

Speaking at the annual summit of chief executives’ organisation Solace, Joanne Roney, told delegates: ‘Don’t just do them because they sound sexy because there’s nothing sexy about this.

'I’m not convinced you need them.

'There’s plenty of other means to accelerate housing growth.’
