Temporary accommodation up by 74% in 10 years

The number of people living in temporary accommodation has risen by an ‘alarming’ 74% in the last decade, new research from housing charity Shelter has found.

Shelter said that, based on detailed analysis of official figures and responses to a Freedom of Information Act request, nearly 250,000 people were now living in temporary accommodation.
