'There's no more cash' warns Clarke

There will be no more cash to bail out public sector budgets hit by soaring inflation Treasury chief secretary Simon Clarke has warned.

The former local government minister said that ‘last autumn’s Spending Review marks the limit of fiscal expansion, the high watermark to honour what we spelled out in our manifesto and not a point at which anyone should expect us to go further.’
