Tory MP in call for Northamptonshire governance changes

A Northamptonshire MP has called for the immediate abolition of the county council’s cabinet and its replacement with a committee-led system of governance.

During an urgent Parliamentary debate on the future of Northamptonshire CC following last week’s imposition of a section 114 order restricting the council’s spending, Conservative Peter Bone laid the blame for the authority’s parlous financial state firmly at the feet of senior councillors.
