Truss facing Tory pressure to boost funding

Conservative-led councils have piled the pressure on new Prime Minister Liz Truss to provide increased funding for the sector.

It comes as a letter to former councillor Ms Truss from the Tory-controlled Local Government Association (LGA) called for her to use an emergency Budget to address the inflation cost pressures facing council budgets and follow through on her pledge to divert more funding to adult social care.
