Aberdeen City Council

Aberdeen City Council Various roles

Aberdeen is an exciting place to live, work and visit - a bustling cosmopolitan city with a unique heritage and a global energy hub. Aberdeen is also one of the few places in the UK to show strong signs of economic growth with ambitious plans for new infrastructure.

Aberdeen City Council's vision is for Aberdeen to be an ambitious, achieving, smart city. Three Heads of Service within the Council have been promoted to Director level positions and the Council is looking to fill these positions – two within the Education, Culture and Sport Directorate, and the third within the Social Care and Wellbeing Directorate - we are looking for ambitious, creative and passionate people to join us to take on the challenge of the following roles:

SOCIAL CARE & WELLBEING DIRECTORATE

Head of Integration and Joint Commissioning - £77,937

You will be responsible for planning and developing provision of the full range of high quality social work services to adults, ensuring that the Council's statutory responsibilities in this regard are properly discharged.

This will include managing the Council's response to the Scottish Government's policy on integration of health and social care, together with the production of a Joint Commissioning Strategy for all Adult groups (in collaboration with the NHS).

A relevant Social Work qualification is essential as well as current registration with the Scottish Social Services Council or equivalent.

EDUCATION, CULTURE & SPORT DIRECTORATE

Head of Communities, Culture and Sport - £77,937

You will be responsible for community learning, delivery of cultural opportunities and strategic development of sporting provision.

This exciting role involves planning for leisure, culture and learning, adding a significant contribution to the quality of life of our community.

You will also ensure effective partnership working with the voluntary sector and local and national bodies with an interest in culture and sport. Building social capital and contributing to economic sustainability are key to the role.

Head of Education, Culture and Sport – Resources - £77,937
