Aberdeen City Council has launched a search for a new top team, in a bid to escape its recent difficulties. The hunt is being led by chief executive, Sue Bruce, who joined Aberdeen in December after damning external reports highlighted problems at the authority. Ms Bruce said the council was ‘definitely on an improvement programme' and the appointments were part of that journey. Aberdeen is now looking for directors of education, culture and sport; corporate governance; housing and environment; enterprise planning and infrastructure; and a project director of economic and business development. Ms Bruce described Aberdeen as an ‘economically-buoyant city', with the opportunity to buck the trend of the recession.
