Two leading local government academics have published a book highlighting their concerns about local government reoganisation. Botched business: The damaging process of reorganising local government 2006-2008 by professors Michael Chisholm and Steve Leach is an in-depth review of the recent process, which started in October 2006. The two academics highlight their concerns about the way the Government handled the process. The book also looks at the two legal challenges which were mounted against reorganisation by Congleton BC and Shrewsbury and Atcham BC, and Bedfordshire CC.
