The Association of Council Secretaries and Solicitors which represents solicitors and trainees, are to merge to form a new body, ‘Lawyers in Local Government'. Its first president will be Mark Hynes, director of governance and democracy at Lambeth LBC.
The new body will represent law and governance officers across local government including police, fire, waste, transport and will include solicitors, barristers, legal executives and trainees.
