Bassetlaw DC's acting chief executive has been handed the job permanently. Neil Taylor, who was also the council's director of resources, had been in the top role since August 2012. Mr Taylor was confirmed in post after a unanimous vote to accept the recommendation of the cross-party appointments committee at this month's full council meeting. He said: ‘I am extremely excited by this opportunity and look forward to working with the councillors and excellent staff at Bassetlaw as we address the many issues and challenges facing local government. ‘There is a lot to do and we are making progress on a number of key issues.' Council leader Cllr Simon Greaves said: ‘I am delighted that Neil will be continuing his excellent work here at Bassetlaw and this appointment brings stability at what is a crucial time for the authority. ‘We are ambitious about the future of our district and Neil will have a key role to play in making sure that Bassetlaw is one of the best places to live, work and visit.'
