ADEPT urges ministers to focus on local growth, infrastructure funding and addressing the cost of social care in the forthcoming Spending Review.

The body representing local transport and environment chiefs, ADEPT, has urged ministers to focus on local growth, infrastructure funding and addressing the cost of social care in the forthcoming Spending Review.

ADEPT president Miles Butler said he was pressing the case for a different approach to social care funding because all local government services are delivered from the same pot. 'ADEPT recognises that a different approach must be applied to funding growing social care costs if those services supporting growth are not to be strangled.'
