Hillingdon LBC and its former chief executive have confirmed settlement of their long-running row. The council and Dorian Leatham issued a joint statement this week giving details of the pay-off to end the dispute, which began last summer, and at one stage, included a High Court ruling to allow the council to continue a disciplinary hearing. Mr Leatham takes immediate retirement from the council by mutual agreement and will be paid £74,483.92 in respect of his contractual and statutory rights. The council thanked Mr Leatham for his service to the borough since 1998, and acknowledged the strengths which he brought to the role of chief executive. It also noted the ‘substantial progress made by the council during this period'. Mr Leatham thanked members and officers for their support. The statement added: ‘It is common knowledge that Mr Leatham and the council have had a number of issues between them in recent months. ‘However, all outstanding issues between the council and Mr Leatham have been dealt with by agreement, and the council wishes Mr Leatham well for the future.'
