The local authorities behind Manchester Airport Group have agreed in principle to restructure ownership of the organisation as it prepares for expansion.
The group, which is owned by the Association of Greater Manchester Authorities (AGMA), announced last week it was looking at buying an additional airport and bringing in private investors to help raise the capital.
