Eyebrows were raised at MJ Towers this week when it was announced that United Airlines are to launch a new non-stop service between New York and Newcastle.
This is obviously very good news for the council-owned Newcastle Airport and its chief executive, David Laws, who said it was the ‘announcement everyone has been hoping for'.
