Catering giant Compass has been hit with a lawsuit over alleged corruption at the United Nations. The complaint has been issued in the US, but not served, by competitor ES-KO International, and a spokesman for Compass, whose subsidiary Scolarest manages council catering contracts, said the complaint would be defended and the damages of around $123m claimed bore no relation to the value of the contracts. Compass is also being investigated by the Serious Fraud Office after claims another subsidiary, Eurest Support Services, obtained restricted UN information. A US Congress investigation continues.
