Apprentice success

MPs on the public accounts committee have hailed the (BIS) adult apprenticeship programme a success.

MPs on the public accounts committee (PAC) have hailed the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills' (BIS) adult apprenticeship programme a success, after numbers involved in the scheme quadrupled in the four years to 2010/11.

According to a PAC report, issued on 17 May, the proportion of adult apprentices who completed their training also increased from just one-third in 2004 to more than three-quarters, six years later.
