Fresh thinking in children's services.Salary: Highly Competitive Salary. Seeing Brighton & Hove in a brand new light. At Brighton & Hove City Council, we take the wellbeing of our children and young people very seriously – with the right support and encouragement, they can go on to achieve great things. But some young people need a little more support than others, and that's why our Children's Services are so important. As part of our improvement journey we're looking for an Assistant Director to come and help us implement these dynamic changes; to help the city move from one with a series of parallel services for children to a city with a fantastic and single Children's Service. This far-reaching and multi-faceted role requires someone with a broad, holistic view of children's services. As a qualified social worker with a strong understanding of social work practices, you will be responsible for our front line social work teams and a range of specialist services, including integrated services with health providers. Already working in a third or second-tier office, you will be able to juggle a tight budget and will embrace our long-term plans to provide a first class Children's Service. So what is it that makes this role so unique? Aside from the fact that Brighton is a great city to live and work in, you'll experience the benefits of working for an ambitious council that has nurtured solid relationships with partners across all services and political parties. With the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) and a new Early Help Hub opening in September, this is a unique opportunity to shape the service, and of course it's a great career move to a city that knows itself well and knows where it is going. Please call Martin Tucker 020 7426 3963 or Tim Hills 0113 205 6085 for a confidential discussion. To apply please visit: http://www.brightonandhovechildrensservices.co.uk/
