Assistant Director, People and Transformation

If there is one thing that can be guaranteed over the years ahead, it is that the challenges and the pace of change across the public sector will not subside. Here at Leicestershire County Council we have already made some important steps in terms of our transformation; we have significantly downsized and also begun to reshape our services to better satisfy the needs of our communities and service users. Of course, our approach is dependent on our managers thinking differently about how they operate, and indeed, structural change is of little use without the cultural change which underpins it.

Our Assistant Director for People and Transformation is responsible for driving this change agenda, and we are therefore looking for candidates who are CIPD qualifi ed and have excellent experience of delivering transformation within a large and complex organisation.

As the most senior HR professional in the organisation (reporting to the Director of Corporate Resources), the postholder will be responsible for HR, Learning and Development, Health and Safety, and Change Management, and will need to build effective working relationships with a range of partners and further develop the shared services agenda. Candidates do not have to have Local Government experience, but a strong awareness and understanding of the issues facing the public sector is vital. Perhaps more importantly, candidates will need to have real passion, drive and determination, as well as the ability to deliver results and work with Members, senior staff and stakeholders to ensure Leicestershire County Council continues to be a high performing and forward facing organisation.

For further information please visit this link or talk to our advising consultants Sophie Rees (0113 205 6280) or Luke Judd (0113 205 6077).

Closing date 6 August 2012.
