Sustaining and building on this success and seizing these opportunities does not come without significant challenge - not least in the field of adult social care, where there is an increased demand for services set against a backdrop of reduced government funding.

Set within this context we need unique people. The Director of Adult and Community Services is now seeking exceptional Assistant Directors to provide the leadership, vision and determination to support the directorate through its next phase by delivering a vision based on excellence, cost efficient services, partnership working and listening to the people of Suffolk.

As an Assistant Director, you will bring significant experience and a proven track record of strategic leadership, delivery in large complex organisations and significant experience of Adult Social Care and Community Services. Just as importantly you will have the creativity and determination to get things done. You will be able to work in partnership within and beyond the immediate sector, to inspire and be able to ‘take people with you'.

This is a major role in both scale and challenge. This appointment also presents the opportunity of a lead role in taking a major authority to a new phase in its development and contributing to the wider transformation of the local public services.
