After months of ‘painful' discussions, the Local Government Association (LGA) revealed this week it had agreed a single draft code of conduct for councillors.
The draft code, sent to all councils on 10 April, had been the subject of protracted negotiations between political parties at the LGA, and the single-page template includes commitments to local integrity, accountability and leadership.
