Around 500 Audit Commission staff took part in industrial action over public pension reforms this week – a move unions warned could hamper the ability to deliver end-of-year audits.

Prospect members instigated a period of work-to-rule on 31 January over the commission's refusal to apply the Fair Deal on pensions to staff transferring to the private sector once the audit body is disbanded next year.
