Tees Valley Combined Authority's (TVCA) finances will not be signed off for a second year running with auditor EY highlighting ‘misstatements' and ‘inconsistencies' in the accounts.
The authority, run by the UK's only Conservative mayor, has long faced questions over its financial arrangements and governance and EY's latest report pointed ‘material misstatements identifiable simply from reading the financial statements (such as material inconsistencies within the financial statements)'.
