Housing management has finally become a talking point. For years it has been overlooked by parliament, received little scrutiny, and dismissed by landlords as an opportunity, where significant savings and improvements in performance could be realised.
However, austerity is driving change.The apparent need to provide an influx of affordable housing, particularly in inner-city areas, coupled with the pressures of the comprehensive spending review and welfare reform, is forcing housing, both the provision and management thereof, to be viewed in a new light.
