Authorities 'must speed up' information requests

ICO put the spotlight on practices of the Welsh Government and states it needs to speed up the time to respond to FoI requests.

Four councils and the Welsh Government must speed up the time it takes to respond to Freedom of Information requests (FoI), or ‘risk formal enforcement action' after the Information Commissioner's Office put the spotlight on their practices.

Out of 18 public authorities monitored between 1 April and 30 June 2011, the Welsh Government, Kent CC, Cornwall Council, Nottingham City Council and North Somerset Council were joined by the East Lancashire NHS Trust in falling ‘below the required standard'.
