Dudley MBC has been celebrating its biggest and best summer festival, with thousands of residents taking advantage of the summer sunshine to visit the three-day event at Himley Hall and Park. The council’s 10th festival kicked off with the now-traditional Rock the Castle event, with 35 local bands competing for attraction on centre stage, while shows and exhibitions by schools, colleges and community groups provided other attractions for the records crowds. Performing arts officer, Claire Starmer, said: ‘We have been running these events for a decade, and this was the best by far. Thousands of people turned out to enjoy the entertainment.’
